ALWA EPT 210 System
ALWA EPT 210 is a laminate and backfilling resin. Laminates can be produced with ALWA EPT 210 in order to manufacture glass fibre plastic parts, gauges, templates, moulds and applications with diverse fillers. ALWA EPT 210 is an epoxy resin that has a low viscosity and a light yellow colour. Under exothermic reaction, it cures in connection with the light yellow hardener H 10 at room temperature. The mixture shows a low viscosity and is particularly appropriate for laminating layers of up to 8 mm. For thicker laminates the application of layers must be interrupted several times in order to avoid too high reaction temperatures in the laminate.Processing
1. Lamination
ALWA EPT 210 has to be mixed very well with the hardener H 10. The mixture needs to be processed within 30 – 60 min. according to the batch size. Please note that the materials which are used for laminating are well drenched with ALWA EPT 210. Avoid the incorporation of air.
2. Backfilling
When using ALWA EPT 210 as a binder for coarse and fine grained fillers, like quartz sand and aluminium granulates and for tampable backfillings, the following recipe suggestion applies:
a) | ALWA EPT 210 + Hardener H 10 + filler (quartz sand 0.5 – 1.0 mm) |
---|---|
100 parts by weight + 20 parts by weight + 1200 – 1500 parts by weight | |
b) | ALWA EPT 210 + hardener H 10 + filler (slate grit 0.2 – 1.5 mm) |
100 parts by weight + 20 parts by weight + 850 parts by weight | |
c) | ALWA EPT 210 + hardener H 10 + filler (aluminium granulates 0.5 – 2.5 mm) |
100 parts by weight + 20 parts by weight + 700 – 800 parts by weight |

Shelf life
Resin and hardener have a minimum storage life of 1 year. The products must be dry and stored in the closed original container at 18 °C – 25 °C. Resin components which are crystallised due to the storage or transport at lower temperatures can be turned back into the liquid form at a temperature of approx. 50 – 70 °C without any loss of quality. When the material is melted, the resin must be cooled down again to the ambient temperature before the hardener can be stirred in.
