Research For The Future: Sustainable Resin Systems Made From Natural Raw Materials
At ALWA, innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. To actively drive the development of environmentally friendly materials, ALWA is currently involved in two pioneering research projects that are setting new standards in the field of sustainable casting resins.
100% Bio-Based Resin
In collaboration with RWTH Aachen University, a fully bio-based casting resin system has been developed. The key feature: it is made entirely from natural raw materials. This project represents a major step toward sustainable materials for industrial mold making.
3D Biofilter Resin
Starting in 2026, ALWA will begin a new cooperation with Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, focusing on the development of a 3D-printable biofilter resin. This material will also be based 100% on natural ingredients.
These research initiatives highlight ALWA’s commitment to developing resource-efficient, high-performance, and future-ready materials, paving the way for a more sustainable plastics industry.
